Exceeding Expectations: The Poole Business Women's Lunch Club 18 January 2012

When Tracey Wood and Frances Miles first set up the Poole Business Women’s Lunch Club twelve years ago, it was the first of its kind in the area. Back then, not only were there no networking groups specifically aimed at local business women, those women that attended the general networking meetings were few and far between.

As a response to the need for UK employers to look at using flexible labour in order to benefit their businesses during the current economic difficulties, the REC has now launched its Flexible Work Commission; an expert group which will drive practical recommendations to Government and business on re-energising the UK’s flexible labourmarket and focus more on flexible working patterns which will also enable businesses to bring in the right skills needed at that time to enhance a company’s productivity.

Poole based recruitment specialists, Jobshop UK, are celebrating the end of the year with yet more success, after finding a permanent placement for Laurie Walker at Gilmond Consulting. Laurie is the fifth Jobshop UK candidate to gain a permanent place at Gilmond, following Heather Carpenter, Carole Briscoe, Alison Clements and Annelie Mesher, who all now work as customer support staff for the Company.
