Jobshop UK tackles motivation with Motivational Maps
05 August 2009
Motivational Maps® mentoring service has proved so successful in improving staff and team motivation and performance at Poole based Jobshop UK that the recruitment agency offered its clients the opportunity to learn about the principles of motivational mentoring at a breakfast seminar.
Having met James Sale, Creative Director of Motivational Maps, at an Institute of Directors’ event, Jobshop UK Director, Frances Miles, became extremely interested in his company’s concept that the performance of an organisation depends upon improving staff motivation. Aware that building greater synergy between the Jobshop team would maximise employee motivation and boost performance she arranged with James to undertake a Motivational Map of Jobshop UK’s team.
The resultant motivational map for individual staff members have formed part of each employee’s appraisal and the team map has produced measurably higher levels of productivity, quality and positivity. Such was the success of Jobshop UK’s mentoring session that it arranged for its clients to learn about the principles of motivation at a breakfast seminar at Storm restaurant in Poole.
Attended by over a dozen companies and associations from the region including Lester Aldridge; Raglan Housing Association; TDSi and Greendale Construction, Motivational Maps provided attendees with the techniques and tools to apply to keep staff motivated, what can be done to make redundancy more palatable and the de-motivation of employees when job security is threatened and stress levels are high.
“Our employees were almost universally agreed that their Motivational Map was uncannily accurate and has helped to create an understanding of what motivates them”, said Frances Miles. “Feedback from our seminar has been excellent and we have been told by our clients that in these tough times motivation is a key ingredient in keeping businesses profitable”.
